Are you seeking funding for your community group?
Although the Coaition does not provide mini grants, If you believe that your current project or strategy might help the coalition further its goals there may be opportunities for a partnership with the coalition. Consider the questions below and answer each in the narrative section of the form.
1. How can we reach you? Please provide the contact information for the person submitting the request, and the organization being represented.
2. Is your strategy innovative? Tell us what is different about your new project as compared to what is currently available in Clatskanie/Westport. Or, if you have been around for a while, what continues to set your program apart from the crowd.
3. Does it bring something to the community that would otherwise not be available? The Coalition has long been focused on collaboration rather than replication. Take a look at our
Resource Guide if you are not familiar with current offerings in the area, there may be a great opportunity for you to partner with another group that is working on similar goals.
4. Do you offer it for little or no cost to Clatskanie/Westport residents? It is not a requirement that your program be offered at no cost, there are strategies within the coalition that charge a nominal fee for participation, but we encourage groups to provide universal access to all interested participants. (Scholarship programs available to low income families is a good start, but does not provide universal access.)
5. Who benefits from your program? Is everyone welcome to take part in the program you are funding or is it only for a specific age group, gender, religion, etc.? We are most interested in strategies that are universally targeted since we have the opportunity to reach more people that way. However, we remain open to programs that have one defining requirement. If, for example, your program targets every single high school student, that would be enough to get started. Programs for every single high school student who has at least a 2.0 GPA, or every single elementary school girl, or every single 2nd grader, for example, would be examples of programs with a more narrow scope.
6. Who are your partners? What other community groups are currently working with you to achieve your goals? How are they involved? Do they provide funding, volunteer hours, a facility for your use?
7. What is your annual budget? How much does your organization spend every year and what are your income sources? With what, exactly do you hope the coalition will help?
8. What outcomes can you show as a result of your program? Can you show lower dropout rates, increase in test scores, decrease in specific or overall crime data, increase in median wage or per capita homeownership. How about a decrease in 30 day binge drinking or an increase in perception of parental disproval of drug, alcohol or tobacco use? Tell us what factors your program addresses and what data collection/survey instruments will be used to demonstrate change.
We welcome you to fill out the online form to give us more information about your program. We encourage you to copy and paste the questions above into a word processing document, to develop the narrative answers to these questions and then paste the contents of the document in the narrative section provided here. If you have any questions please feel free to
